The Book is Blessed Big Time on Easter Sunday!

Our book launch party at the Center for Sex and Culture (CSC) was huge success. Thank you to everyone who came and made it so much fun.

Joseph Kramer started off the action by silently leading everyone in some high-energy breathing. He played the Clown/Fool/Jester who brings us into the present moment with humor and awareness. Carol Queen was definitely the Mistress of the Ceremony, presenting each piece with the flair for which she is famous.

When I introduced the book and read some selections from it, there were audible gasps at some of the content. For instance, many were shocked by the simple truth quoted from the concluding chapter:

A common trait of all of the sacred intimates in this book is their full acceptance of themselves and those who come to work with them. Such complete acceptance is so rare that it is much more radical than any of the physical activities that take place during their sessions.

I loved it that I saw a woman elbow her friend when I suggested that those in the room could help change the world by sharing this book with their sister-in-law in Kansas. And it was even better later when several people bought extra copies of the book to do just that!

Grin offered a beautifully artistic piercing piece that blessed the connection between sexuality, spirituality and the heart. Annie Sprinkle presented part of the story of her life as a sacred whore and shared a sing-along. The world needs more of her type of unconditional love, that’s for sure.

Then the ritual blew the roof off! So much energy was raised to bless the book and send it out to change the world that you WILL be hearing about it from unexpected sources. Blessed be.

The CSC had many wonderful auction items, and the smartest attendees got some great bargains. I get to spend three wonderful hours of my time (writing coaching that I donated) with a very talented friend who’s working on his own book now.

If you missed this event, don’t worry, there will be more. In fact, Suzanne has some scheduled this week on the East coast — OneTasteNY Wednesday, March 26th and Sexy Spirit on Friday, March 28th. Enjoy!

As we close in on March 25th, which is the official publication date for Reclaiming Eros, both Margaret and I are planning events. Margaret will be celebrating on the west coast in San Francisco with Annie Sprinkle, Joseph Kramer, Cléo Dubois and other friends. I will be in New York with Isa Magdalena at One Taste on Wednesday, March 26th and at Sexy Spirit on Friday, March 28th. As we firm up details, we will post them right here!

Great Conference!

Reclaiming Eros was really well received at the ASEP Conference! Really well. In addition to showcasing the book I presented a short “how to” on writing, self-publishing and marketing which seemed to be very helpful generating a lot of buzz about writing. On the last day of the conference I sold out of the book! In fact, I was five copies short for an order. Yeah! I really didn’t want to carry books home – they’re heavy.

Since this was my first presentation and signing I was extremely excited (and relieved) that it went so well. Now I am really up for the next venue.

Sacred Whores and Healers at the ASEP Conference

Reclaiming Eros is making its debut this weekend at the Association of Sexual Energy Professionals Conference in Phoenix. I will be showcasing this book and participating in a panel discussion on establishing a sexual energy practice. I’m really jazzed about meeting several of the fascinating people featured in the book and participating in this unique event. I should have a lot to report when I return.
